FindSugarBabies.com – How Not To Run A Sugar Dating Website

Rating:

FindSugarBabies.com is a dating website that aims to connect sugar babies with sugar daddies and vice versa. The site features a “Love Stars” program, which supposedly gives you the opportunity to meet with real women in person. One of the biggest draws of the site, this feature seemingly offers sugar daddies with a number of exciting opportunities. Unfortunately, the program is only one of several questionable tactics employed in the site as we will explain below.

FindSugarBabies.com: First impressions

The operators of FindSugarBabies.com waste no time in letting you know what the site is all about. Upon browsing to the homepage, you will be greeted by a bevy of topless women, all in poses that leave no doubt in your mind as to what they are offering.

Now, we love topless women just as much as anyone. We fully realize that FindSugarBabies and other similar sites offer an adult service. It is also a reality that a lot of men are looking exactly for what this particular site’s welcoming wallpaper suggests.

But what we do have an issue with are sites that misrepresent their membership, and we seriously doubt that the women on display here are actual members of the site. Of course, looking into the legitimacy of each and every profile is ultimately your own responsibility, and the owners of FindSugarBabies don’t actually claim that the women shown are actually members of the site. Even so, having them on display right at the homepage seems to be a cheap ploy intended to deceive more gullible sugar daddies.

Signing up process

Right over the wallpaper of topless women is a sign up form in the center of the homepage. You are first asked if you are a man or a woman, and then the gender of the partner you are looking for. We selected “man” for the first question, and then just for kicks, we selected “man” again for the second. We got through to the next step, so we assume that FindSugarBabies.com is a gay-friendly site, which may or may not interest you depending on your preferences.

The next step is to fill in your birthday, which we did. Inexplicably, you are then asked if you enjoy receiving oral sex, and then if you’ve ever tried anal sex. Our opinion on consenting adults being what it is, we don’t judge people for doing whatever they want as long as it doesn’t hurt anybody. We do question the need to obtain this information right at the sign up process, but clearly the owners of the site see some logic in it.

At this point, you will be presented with a form which you fill in with your personal information, including profile headline, personal details, a mobile number where you will be sent text alerts, and other information. You are also presented with the option to sign up for a premium gold account.

Bogus notifications?

Almost immediately after successfully completing the sign up process, we received no less than five pop-up notifications from girls looking to connect. Although we were thrilled to see a bunch of pop-ups right from the get go, our excitement quickly turned to dismay when we realized that some of the girls were simply looking to offer nude pictures in exchange for cash. Not that we have anything against such arrangements–nor do we judge people willing to engage in such activities–but that isn’t exactly what we expect from a sugar daddy site.

It was also a bit strange that we got five notifications and yet our profile indicated that we only had three views. This seems to suggest that some of those messages were from bots, which was a serious concern for us.

In any case, the FindSugarBabies.com site is set up so that replying to such messages–and in fact, performing most any type of action–is not possible without first verifying your profile with photographs and a photo ID. This is a good policy to implement and we do wish more sugar daddy sites had a similar system in place. However, we question just how effective such a measure might be considering the possibility that some of the accounts may be bots.

The Love Stars program

Our suspicions were confirmed when we took a closer look at the site’s terms and conditions page. One of the things that initially drew us to FindSugarBabies.com was the Love Stars program. “Love Stars” are supposedly sugar babies that you can connect with online and then meet in person.

Now, this would understandably be appealing to those interested in more than just an online chat. But a closer look at the section detailing this particular “feature” gave us one more reason to be concerned. The section states that some of the profiles posted on the site may be “fictitious or models or bots related to our “Love Stars” program”.

That’s where it gets creepy. We do understand that some sites employ professional models to generate discussion and to drum up some interest for their services. We don’t have a problem with that as long as the site in question makes it clear what you are getting into.

Unfortunately, FindSugarBabies.com doesn’t only employ models as part of the Love Stars program, but actually utilizes bots as well. This is simply unacceptable to us, and it really left a sour taste in our mouths that such a site would resort to such deceptive measures.

It gets worse. After signing up for an account, you will almost immediately receive a bunch of emails from women who supposedly want to connect with you. Unsurprisingly, these women all had one thing in common: they are all part of the Love Stars program, which means that they are probably fictitious as well.

It’s one thing to have automated bots try to chat you up when you are live on the site, and another thing entirely to have bots flood your inbox with bogus messages. This crosses the line between annoying and downright intrusive, and it was the final straw for FindSugarBabies.com as far as we were concerned.

FindSugarBabies.com: The bottom line

Given all these concerns, there really isn’t a lot that FindSugarBabies.com has going for it. The presentation of women that don’t appear to have anything to do with the site was a red flag in itself, and the clearly bogus accounts from bots gave us even more reasons to be wary. Add to that the email flooding from even more bogus accounts, and we simply can’t recommend this site in good conscience. If you are a sugar daddy looking to hook up with an actual sugar baby, there are plenty of other sugar daddy services that are more deserving of your time, money, and attention.
